The beautifully renovated Rotermann district <\/strong>is just a short distance from the port, city centre and Medieval Old Town. The shopping and dining district, located between the Old Town and the Viru Centre, is also an easy place to stop by when in Tallinn centre. Originally built in the 20th century, the area was once home to a salt factory, alcohol, furniture and pasta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The architecture of the Rotermann Quarter is an open-minded mix of old and new<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once upon a time, Rotermann was also home to a flour mill for making bread and a large convenience store. Today, the architecturally valuable former salt factory houses the Estonian Museum of Architecture<\/em><\/strong> and the Rotermann Quarter has become a charming world of restaurants and shopping. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redevelopment of the Rotermann quarter has been a success, with the district consisting of old buildings and new buildings built on their site. The complex has retained its character and Rotermann, with its unconventional buildings, offers plenty to delight the eye, as well as services and restaurants. Rotermanni is a lively quarter with shops, restaurants, caf\u00e9s and offices, as well as residential buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rotermann is home to a wide variety of restaurants. Caf\u00e9 Levier<\/em> offers a selection of pastries as well as snacks. Wine restaurant R14<\/em> is the perfect setting for both dinner and lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Souvenirs can be bought at the Estonian Design House, where you can find Estonian designers’ work from all over the world. In the Rotermann district, you’ll also find COS<\/em><\/strong>, which focuses on Scandinavian fashion, and hotell Metropol<\/strong><\/a>. You can shop for clothes, for example at Bershka<\/em>, Stradivarius<\/em><\/strong> and Bull & Bear<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rotermann district is its own little island in the middle of the city, with just about every service you could wish for within walking distance. If you want to eat in a very cosy place, shop and soak up the city’s atmosphere, we recommend a visit to this picturesque quarter, which combines old and new. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
